News Flash... Taurian Concordat Invaded? Assaults continue on worlds.
From the ISBNN... Begin voice transmission....
This is Thorian Blackstar reporting from the ISBNN headquarters...
We now have the complete story on the recent assault on the planet Diik, in the Taurian Concordat.
A force of unknown origins made a surprise assault on the planet Diik approximately two weeks ago in an early morning raid. What was known when ISBNN made the first report on this story was that these forces destroyed the planetary defenders to the last man. None of the combat units were left for salvage. The brutality of the assault was a reminder of past assaults of the Clan invaders in the first part of the invasion back in 3050.
What was learned from this assault from eye witness survivors, who were all civilians, was that the assaulting force that could be seen during the attack, that all of the attacking units were painted black. The only visible markings were shadowy skulls painted on to the hulls of the vehicles and 'Mechs. There were sightings of Battle Armored infantry similarly painted too. These marauders attacked with brutal efficiency of a well trained and elite force of combatants. One thing for sure was they were not pirates. No, this force attacked, cut to pieces the defending militia with surgical precision of an elite House unit.
We do not know if there were any casualties from the attackers as they did not leave any thing behind. Even their vehicles or 'Mechs that were damaged or disabled, were destroyed in place as if they were cleansing any identification to show who they were.
Just a minute... I have some breaking news..(Frank, you've got to be kidding me)... Damn.
Ok, This just rolled off the HPG Telefax from our news feeds from the ComStar HPG A station. It would appear that the "Shadow Marauders" as they are now being called, have made not one assault, but three simultaneous assaults on the Taurian Worlds of Gaul, Marknick and Erod's Escape. In the same manner it would appear. The initial report is sketchy, but the transmission seems to indicate that in each attack, the same brutal assault was made against the defending units on the planet, leaving none of the defenders alive or their combat units operational. The message abruptly ended after that.
I for one can not understand or even try to figure this one out, but in each instance, they have attacked only the defending forces and destroyed the planets capability to defend itself and moved on.
We have been trying to get in touch with some of the leadership of the Taurian Government, but none have been available for the last few days. But I have learned from an unnamed source that with the recent war the Taurian Armed Forces were involved with the Capellan's against the St. Ives, the Taurian Concordat is hard pressed to defend their worlds in the outer reaches of their realm. This is the concern that was voiced by my contact who will remain anonymous.
Questions are being raised by many. Who is attacking? Who is responsible? Fingers are now being pointed at the leadership within the Taurian government. I will continue to monitor this situation and report to you exactly as it comes to us here at ISBNN.
