Mercy Rose Hospital Complex

Dr. Paolo strode down the various hallways of the medical complex with determination set in his face alongside a warning that no one else had better get in his way. Command had pulled him away to another facility to deal with a mass combat fatigue case. That had taken three precious days away from his cases here. In Paolo’s professional opinion Terry Quina couldn’t last three days unattended and he had forcefully told Command just that. They had responded that the needs of a group outweighed the needs of one man. Bitterly the Doctor had wondered if that would have held true had the one been related to someone high in ComStar. Yet surprisingly it seemed that Terry had not only survived, he had reportedly come around fairly well on his own. This was one time Paolo didn’t mind being proven wrong.
There had been one side benefit for Quina from the Doctor’s trip. Paolo had turned up some very important evidence of the “Bossman”s intentions during those final hours of Terry’s unit’s existence. It was something he was sure would make a big difference in Terry’s mental recovery.
He entered the recuperation ward to find the attendant at a desk half way down the main hall waving frantically at him. With a heavy sigh he headed for the man. As he passed the open door to the Sun Room he thought he heard a raspy voice talking to someone but couldn’t make out the conversation as he walked by.
“Yes, what is it,” snapped Paolo as he arrived at the desk.
“Doctor,” started the attendant, “Doctors Xiang and Applebee want you to contact them as soon as you’re free for consultation. They say it’s urgent.”
“Isn’t is always? All right, I’ll call them both ASAP. Where’s MechWarrior Quina right now?”
“In the Sun Room Doctor.”
Paolo looked back down the hall. If Terry was talking to people in the Sun Room he had come along far better than the Doctor had dared ever hope.
“We had him prepped to go to the base for an inquiry yesterday but it got cancelled,” supplied the desk jockey trying to be helpful.
